The ASUS ROG Phone 5 series has been around for quite some time now, but ASUS just announced a new ROG Phone 5s series out of nowhere. According to sources, there is no official pricing and availability yet but we got the details of the tech specs below.

In the ROG Phone 5s series, there would be a ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro. As expected, this new series is equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset which clocks in at 3.0GHz (Cortex X1). Both phones also have an improved AI Engine that offers a 20% boost, which is said to deliver 32 TOPS as compared to the predecessor's 26 TOPS.

In terms of memory, the ROG Phone 5s Pro now sports up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Basically on paper, that's technically better than the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate just by a bit due to the chipset. However, the pro variant also has a colour PMOLED display behind it so aesthetically, it looks cooler too. Apart from that, the S series also comes in 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 256GB memory configuration.

The ultrasonic AirTrigger 5 feature is back as well and the pro variant also has two touch sensors on the rear. The ROG Phone 5s series also got an upgrade in the touch latency, now having 24.0ms which boosts up to a 360Hz touch sampling rate. As for the refresh rate and display, they remain the same (as well as for the rest of the tech specs).
