It's that time of the year again and Acer Malaysia has finally unveiled the new additions to the Predator Helios series. The Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 return with the latest hardware, as well as a performance-geared Acer Aspire 7 that can be used for gaming. Here's everything you need to know.
First, the new Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 are powered by a 13th Gen Intel Core i9 processor paired with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (MGP up to 175W) utilizing NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture. Moreover, it has up to 32GB DDR5-5600 Mhz RAM and up to 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD in RAID 0, solidifying them as top-tier gaming laptops.
Both Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 are equipped with 16-inch and 18-inch displays respectively in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Both displays also come in WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution with up to 240Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness with 100% coverage of DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. In addition, the 18-inch panel is also ideal for multiple monitor setups.
To keep the gaming laptops cool, they are integrated with enhanced thermal solutions with dual custom-engineered 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D metal fans and vector heat pipes. Acer said that it has improved heat dissipation and additionally, the printed liquid metal thermal grease further increases heat transfer. The detachable thermal deco set at the vents allows gamers to personalize their own unique design.
Multiple ports can be found at the back of the laptop, accompanied by a customizable RGB light bar that runs along the top of the back vents. Speaking of RGB, the mini-LED backlit keyboard has 1.8 mm key travel and anti-ghosting N-key rollover.
On the other hand, the new Acer Aspire 7 is now equipped with a 12th Gen Intel Core i5 H-series processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 GPU, making it capable of playing a lot of AAA games at a decent level. It also comes with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display and 144Hz refresh rate, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD of storage. Additional SSD and RAM slots can be further upgraded.
The Acer Aspire 7 is priced at RM3199 and will be available by the end of April 2023 at Acer eStore and Acer's official stores on Shopee and Lazada. Meanwhile, the Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 retail from RM8,999, and will be available in May 2023 at the same store platforms.
Pre-orders placed before 30 April 2023 for the new Helios gaming laptops will come bundled with freebies worth more than RM1,600. These include an XV272 monitor, a Predator Urban Gaming Backpack, a Predator R6 Chibi Figurine and an Acer SuperCare 2 that provides 3 years on-site warranty with accidental damage and theft coverage.
