For a while now, Acer is heading towards sustainability and an eco-friendly future with its products. Calling it the Vero series, the company has expanded it to the Chromebook lineup and the Acer Chromebook Vero 514 is the latest member. Like other Vero products, this Chromebook leverages recycled materials.

As the first Chromebook in its line of Vero devices, the new Acer Chromebook Vero 514 (CBV514-1H/T) features 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in the chassis and 50% PCR plastic in the keycaps, 100% ocean-bound plastics on the touchpad surface and 90% recycled paper packaging. Making repairs and upgrades to the memory and storage are now simplified as well with standard screws on the bottom cover.

Despite that, the Chromebook Vero 514 also meets MIL-STD 810H testing standards that protect it from drops as high as 122cm. Its 14-inch FHD display is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass, sporting a thin bezel design with an 88% screen-to-body ratio. In terms of specs, it's powered by the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors and Intel Iris Xe graphics, and it can be quickly charged up to 50% of its 10-hour battery life within 30 minutes.

Other features include 300 nits brightness and a wide 100% sRGB colour range. The webcam is also FHD with a flare-reducing function, accompanied by DTS audio with a smart amplifier for high-quality video conferencing. Other notable features include WiFi 6E and multiple ports such as two USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Type-A and HDMI.
