After it's much hyped announcement at Computex 2013, we've been waiting quite some time for it and now Acer Malaysia has finally released the Acer Iconia W3 tablet. Packing in the full Windows 8 with an 8-inch screen, the tablet will be priced at RM1199 for the 16GB version, which is probably the lowest price for any full Windows 8 system to date. The 64GB version will be coming later in July 2013, but will probably be priced around RM1300 as the US price for the 64GB version is around $429.99 (RM1362) but it also comes with the keyboard. In addition to the full Windows 8 experience, Microsoft have also added a fully functioning Office for free so you can do more than just browse with this tablet.
While the Acer Iconia W3 does come with a keyboard, snap-on casing and screen protector, these accessories will only be available in the next few weeks or so, and will be sold separately. The keyboard will be going for RM149, the snap-on casing for RM99 and the screen protector for RM49. It would be good if Acer can do a combo deal as RM1397 (RM1199 + RM149 + RM49) is still quite a high price. In comparison, newly released Windows 8 touchscreen notebook computers are going for below RM1300 or so. However, the tablet should provide another option for those looking to get a portable yet affordable Windows 8 machine.
