Usually, gaming laptops are pretty expensive and not many teenagers can afford it. Well, that's solved by Acer Malaysia because starting at the end of September 2017, a new Nitro 5 variant will be arriving soon at the price of just RM2999. To add on top of that, the first 200 customers who purchase the Nitro 5 will also go home with a RM499 Predator gaming mouse in their complimentary Acer-designed backpack.
This model is a different from the one that was announced in early August for the price of RM3299 because the former uses a GTX 1050 graphics card, while this variant powered by AMD quad-core processor FX 9830P (2MB L2 cache, 3.0 GHz with Turbo CORE Technology up to 3.7GHz), and features AMD Radeon RX550 graphics card with 4GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM, supporting Shader Model 5.0, Microsoft DirectX 11.2/12.
In terms of design, it looks exactly the same with the chassis in matte black, its backlit keyboard and the body lets gamers to upgrade up to 16GB DDR4 as well. Inside the body lies the Acer Coolboost technology that keeps the laptop cool, while also allowing gamers to manually control the cooling process when an added boost is required for heavy use, to deliver a smooth gaming experience.
The panel display measures 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS and it's accompanied by its Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology. Other features include a Gigabit Ethernet port, 802.11ac 2x2 MU-MIMO wireless technology, one USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen 2) port, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI 2.0.
The most affordable gaming laptop will soon be released at all authorised Acer resellers nationwide.
