In conjunction with Acer Day 2022 today, Acer Malaysia is releasing a catalogue of new laptop for our local market, one of which is the new Acer Swift 5. Featuring the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7 and i5 processors, the laptop offers performance and portability for busy on-the-go professionals, students and family needs.
In terms of design, Acer lauded the Swift 5 as being sleek and contemporary thanks to a unibody CNC-machined chassis made of Aerospace Aluminium. It is relatively light too at just 1.2kg despite being 14.95mm tall.
Offered in 3 variants, the Swift 5 packs a 14-inch IPS WQXGA display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and 425 nits brightness for the higher end models and 1920 x 1200 pixels and 340 nits brightness for the base model. All variants has a 92.22 percent screen-to-body ration, support for Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit FT LCD, multi-touch, Antibacterial cover glass, 16:10 aspect ratio as well as 100 percent colour gamut sRGB.
Under the hood, the higher end models are powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 while the base model packs the 12th Gen Intel Core i5. All variants utilise Intel Iris Xe graphics, up to 16GB dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
Besides that, the Swift 5 comes with a built-in fingerprint reader on the power button, an Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass for touch surfaces protection and an air inlet at its backlit keyboard for better cooling. Speaking of the latter, the laptop packs an upgraded TwinAir dual-fan system with D6 heat pipes.
Acer also ensured that the Swift 5 is verified with Intel Evo to meet key experience targets, inclduing instant wake from sleep, 10 hours of real-world battery life and a 30-minute charge that yields over 4 hours of battery. Moreover, the laptop’s OceanGlass touchpad is made from ocean-bound plastic waste, providing a glass-like tactile feeling while supporting multi-finger gestures.

Available for purchase starting today at Acer eStore, Acer official store on Shopee and Lazada as well as authorised Acer resellers, the new Acer Swift 5 retails starting from RM4699. Moreover, customers who purchase the new Swift 5 before 30 September 2022 will be eligible to redeem a Sleeve Case, Urban Backpack and RM120 worth of Touch n’ Go eWallet credit, while an additional RM100 off will be available during the ongoing Acer Day roadshow until 7 August 2022.
