Acer recently announced that they would be more sustainable and environmentally friendly at their next@acer 2021. In conjunction with this, they’ve not only joined the RE100 initiative but also announced their Acer Earthion (Earth + Mission) platform along with their Acer Aspire Vero laptop.
The Acer Aspire Vero is built using post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in most of its major parts including the keyboard and body. Designed to allow users to upgrade memory and storage easily, it offers a longer life cycle while still delivering enough power with 11th Gen Intel Core processors, up to 1TB of M.2 SSD storage. In line with the sustainable Earthion platform, the packaging for the Vero will be made from recycled pulp and soy ink.
No Malaysia release dates or pricing details on the Acer Aspire Vero yet though, but since Acer are using all these recycled materials, it would be awesome if it was also affordable.
