Virtual Reality (VR) headsets are gaining traction with both serious enthusiasts and casual users for its immersion and fun factors. Acer will be joining in the fray as they tie-up with Starbreeze to bring the high resolution StarVR headset to the masses.

Acer will be working with Starbreeze to design, manufacture and promote the StarVR headset. This is not Acer’s first foray into VR as they have a partnership with Razer and Sensics on the Open Source Reality platform, and they have several models under the Acer Predator notebook brand, like the Acer Predator 17 X, that supports 3D headsets.

What makes the StarVR headset exciting is the visible screen gives a 210 degree field of view, while the resolution is set at 5120 x 1440 pixels. Both are considerably better than those found on the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. We can’t wait to see this in action here in Malaysia.
