With the start of the year, some companies have already started to make big announcements for CES 2022. For instance, Samsung unveiled new monitors and TVs yesterday. Moreover, there are also some new devices from Acer. Specifically, three new Chromebooks have been announced.
Acer Chromebook Spin 513
The first model is the Acer Chromebook Spin 513, a slim convertible that's designed for productivity. It packs a MediaTek Kompanio 1380 chipset, a 13.5-inch VertiView display (2256x1504), upwards facing speakers, and more. The speakers also support DTS Audio for high-quality distortion-free sound, which makes them good for entertainment and video calls. It also has an estimated battery life of up to 10 hours.
Acer Chromebook 315
The next one is the Acer Chromebook 315, a larger 15.6-inch Chromebook. This one comes with an Intel CPU, a large 15.6-inch FHD display with anti-glare, an OceanGlass Touchpad, and speakers that support DTS Audio. Due to the size, Acer also managed to squeeze in a Numpad with the standard laptop keyboard, so it's a great Chromebook for work. As for battery life, this one can also last up to 10 hours depending on usage.
Acer Chromebook 314
Lastly, there's the Acer Chromebook 314. This is a smaller 14-inch model that, with the Chromebook 315, is targeted at the budget-conscious. It comes with an Intel CPU, 14-inch FHD display with an anti-glare coating, OceanGlass Touchpad, and speakers that support DTS Audio. Moreover, it supports WiFi-6.
Both Chromebook 314 and Chromebook 315 surprisingly share the same price tag of USD299.99 (~RM1254), while the Chromebook Spin 513 costs USD599.99 (~RM2509). The Chromebook 315 will officially launch later this month, but the Chromebook Spin 513 and Chromebook 314 will only be out Q2 2022.
