Acer unveils new Swift and Switch models at Next@Acer global event

New Swift and Switch laptops were announced today at Next@Acer in New York, they presented the Acer Swift 3, Swift 1, and the popular 2-in-1 notebook line with two new models – the Switch 5 and Switch 3.

The Swift 3 only measures in at 17.95 mm in height and weighs 1.8 kg, its lightweight design features a sturdy brushed-aluminium body that offers a 7th Generation Intel Core processors, Intel HD or NVIDIA GeForce graphics, and offers up to 10 hours of battery life. In addition to its battery life, Swift 3 sports a vivid 14-inch or 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare displays, fast 512GB SSDs or spacious 1TB HDDs, up to 8GB of memory and 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology for fast and reliable internet connectivity. Besides that, it packs a USB 3.1 Type-C port, HD webcam with Super High Dynamic Range, and an optional backlit keyboard.

There is a special edition of the Swift 3, coming with a top cover with Vibrant Corning Gorilla Glass, providing the unique flexibility to customize the top cover with photorealistic images that are highly durable and damage-resistant.

The Swift 1 is also lightweight and highly portable. Available in Pure Silver, Luxury Gold, and Sakura Pink, it can last up to 10 hours of battery life and features a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display, an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and either 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of SSD or eMMC storage. Like the Swift 3, the Swift 1 also includes ultra-fast 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology, providing seamless connectivity.

Both of the notebooks support Windows Hello through fingerprint readers for fast and secure logins, along with Skype for Business certification.

In terms of pricing, the Swift 3 series will be available in North America in June with prices starting at $599; in EMEA in June with prices starting at €649; and in China in April starting at ¥3,999. Aa for the Swift 1, it will be available in North America in June with prices starting at $329; in EMEA in June with prices starting at €399; and in China in April starting at ¥3,499.

Moving on, the Switch 5 is Acer’s first 2-in-1 to be offered with 7th Generation Intel Core i7 and i5 processors. The built-in fingerprint reader is located on the power button and its viewing angle can be easily adjusted one-handedly. Inside the device, LiquidLoop fanless cooling system is integrated to keep it running efficiently without fan noise, and delivers day-to-night 10.5-hour battery life. On the display, it has a 12-inch FHD+ touch display with IPS technology with 2160 x 1440 resolution with support from Intel HD Graphics 620.

On the other hand, the Switch 3 runs on Intel Pentium and Intel Celeron processors that deliver solid every day performance and up to 8 hours of battery life. The 12.2-inch display has a wide 178-degree viewing angle and 1920 x 1200 FHD resolution with IPS technology. The two Switch models come with  an attachable keyboard that snaps on with ultra-secure magnets and can be adjusted to an ergonomic angle for customer preference.

The Acer Switch 5 will be available in North America in June starting at $799; in EMEA in June starting at €1,099; and in China in July starting at ¥7,499. While the Switch 3 will be available in North America in June starting at $399; in EMEA in June starting at €499; and in China in July starting at ¥4,999.
