Call of Duty, one of the popular video game franchises, will be adapted into a live-action film through a new deal between Activision and Paramount. So, what should you know about it?

A collaboration that made it happened

"Under this important partnership, Paramount will develop, produce and distribute a live-action film based on Call of Duty. Both companies are committed to respecting the brand's unique storytelling and style." - Paramount

With over 500 million copies sold worldwide, Call of Duty is one of the most successful video game franchises. It is known for its game campaigns that often feature large-scale, cinematic and action-packed storylines.

A few years ago, Activision had plans to produce a Call of Duty movie, but it never materialised. Now, the project has finally been sealed through an official agreement with Paramount, thus opening up a huge opportunity to bring Call of Duty to the silver screen.

Moreover, there are currently no details on the plot, cast or director, but Paramount CEO David Ellison said they are looking to the success of Top Gun: Maverick as a reference for the live-action film.
