Have you ever had one of those Tamagotchi digital pets? If you grew up with those, then you'd recognise one of the latest in-game cosmetic items for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Cheekily named 'Tomogunchi', this item is a wristwatch style in-game item that allows you to care for a digital pet.
According to the official blog post, this is a purchasable cosmetic item (micro-transaction) that you have to equip in the game to start taking care of the digital pet. The pet will evolve over time from Child to Teen and then Adult, a process that can be made faster by successfully getting captures, killstreaks, plants, and top-three wins. Like the physical Tamagotchi toy way back in the 90s, you have to care for the pet and ensure it doesn't die.

To check on the pet, you have to press the up-arrow key in any match and select the 'Watch Interact' gesture. You will be then able to see if the pet is healthy and happy on the virtual wristwatch's screen. What's really disturbing is that the stated methods to feed the pet is through in-game kills, scores via clearing objectives, killstreaks, and match wins. Truly, that is one bloodthirsty pet to have...
The Tomogunchi Virtual Pet is now available in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare store. However, would you actually spend the money to buy on something like this? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
