Companies have been using IoT sensors to do all sorts of interesting in recent years, but a recent piece of tech that was announced shows how niche some of them can be. According to Footy Headlines, Adidas Japan has created a new type of tracking sensor that is placed into insoles for shoes. That's right, for shoes!

Adidas Japan calls it the Adidas GMR, a pair of Google Jacquard chips that are placed into shoe insoles. They allow the wearer to track things like your touch, control, speed, and kicks while playing football. You'll need the Adidas GMR app (Android and iOS) to check the recorded stats and keep track of them.

Besides that, it's also possible to link the app to your FIFA Mobile account. Doing so allows you to enhance your in-game Ultimate Team the more you use the sensors. Additionally, those who purchase the Adidas GMR will get a digital code that lets you unlock Paulo Dybala in FIFA Mobile. Adidas is expected to launch this on 10 March 2020.

In our opinion, these insoles feel more like things a professional team would be interested in. But would you be interested in such tracking capabilities yourself? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more queer tech news like this.
