After all the previous Adobe AI projects like Adobe Sensei and so forth, it seemed like just a matter of time before the company took a stab at generative AI art too. Adobe Firefly is their answer to this and while it is still only in beta, Adobe plans for Firefly to be utilized for commercial use. You can join the beta here.
Designed for use in Adobe’s Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Experience Cloud and Adobe Express workflows, Adobe Firefly doesn’t seem to be just an AI art generator. From the video demo, the engine seems contextually aware, enough that you can ask for a puppy in a Santa costume, then ask it to be placed in front of a gingerbread house.
Most importantly, the hands look accurate with no missing or extra fingers and there are multiple options to choose from after the art has been generated. Adobe also says that while Firefly will use graphics from Adobe Stock libraries, they are also working so that creators will be properly compensated if Firefly uses their content, which will be implemented after beta.
Creators can also opt for a “Do Not Train” Content Credential Tag in their content if they do not want their content to be used by Adobe Firefly. Adobe Firefly will be available first on Adobe Express, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. What do you think about Adobe Firefly? Can’t wait to use it?
