Previously, we shared how Apple and the Indonesian Government have finally struck a deal to lift the iPhone 16 Series ban in the country. Now, some 7 months after its global launch, Apple has announced that the iPhone 16 Series will officially be launched in Indonesia on 11 April.
In a press release published on Apple’s official Indonesian website, the global tech giant revealed that all variants under the iPhone 16 Series will launch on the aforementioned date in the country. These include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max and the recently launched iPhone 16e.

Previously, according to people familiar with the matter, Apple agreed on a USD1 billion investment in Indonesia to lift the ban, which includes setting up new plants in Bandung and Batam. For the uninitiated, the ban started in October by Indonesia due to Apple's failure to comply with domestic manufacturing requirements for phones and tablets.
The company first proposed a USD10 million investment, then USD100 million which the Ministry for Industry rejected. Besides the USD1 billion investment, Apple also has to commit to training locals in research and development on the products.
That way, they can learn and develop their own software, goods and designs. Although Apple already has academies in Indonesia, this training will be held in other programs instead of the former.
