AirAsia has announced its annual fixed-fare initiative for festive travel, with one-way fares starting from RM328 to Sarawak and RM398 to Sabah. The campaign is aimed at helping Malaysians plan their Lunar New Year and Hari Raya journeys earlier, while avoiding sudden fare spikes during peak periods.

The offer is only for selected AirAsia flights to East Malaysia

For your information, the fixed fares apply to selected AirAsia flights from Kuala Lumpur to major destinations in East Malaysia. These include Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu in Sarawak, as well as Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Sandakan in Sabah.

According to AirAsia, more than 31000 seats will be made available across both festive seasons, supported by approximately 1578 flights. For Lunar New Year, bookings at fixed fares are open until 24 February 2026, with travel dates running from 13 February 2026 to 24 February 2026.

Meanwhile, for Hari Raya, travellers can book until 26 March 2026, covering flights scheduled between 18 March 2026 and 26 March 2026. Seats at these prices are limited and offered on selected flights only. AirAsia also confirmed that the fixed fares are all-in, covering base fares, regulatory fees and fuel surcharges where applicable.

Additionally, travellers are encouraged to book early through the AirAsia website or the AirAsia MOVE app, with online check-in available up to 14 days before departure. From a tech perspective, this initiative also highlights how airlines continue to rely on digital platforms and early booking features to manage peak-season demand more efficiently.

If you are planning to head home or travel during the upcoming festive seasons, will fixed fares make it easier to lock in your travel plans early?
