At CES 2022, companies don't just unveil upcoming products. It's also common to see some prototypes or concept technologies at the event. For this year, Alienware has something that's targeted at games streaming. The company calls it Concept Nyx.

According to Alienware, Concept Nyx would allow gamers to play their games on multiple devices. The idea is to deliver seamless transitions between the devices. For instance, you normally play games like Cyberpunk 2077 on your PC. But even if you need to go cook, you don't have to leave your game on pause. With Concept Nyx, you could turn on the TV in your living room and play with a controller while you're cooking.

Sounds wild? It does sound crazy, but Alienware believes that gaming technology is ready to advance in this direction. The company plans to do this with edge computing, which boasts high-performance game processing that can be shared over a local network. This makes it possible for lower latencies, compared to streaming games from platforms like GeForce Now.

Of course, this is not a technology that's ready to be deployed. But 5G is on the way and WiFi-6 routers are becoming common, so this concept might become a reality someday. What do you think though, is this how you'd like to game in the future? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news about this.
