Amazon AppStore will no longer be on Google PlayStore from August 2025

Amazon has now informed app developers that their Android app store, the Amazon AppStore will be closed on August 20, 2025. The main reason behind this closure was not stated. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, the Amazon AppStore has been available on PlayStore since 2011. Since its introduction, they have open their app store for Android users. They also worked with BlackBerry to support Android apps through their app store on Blackberry 10. In addition, Amazon has also included an AppStore for Windows 11, allowing Windows users to easily install Android apps.

Previously, Amazon had stated that it would end support for Windows effective March 2025, and now it has also announced the end of support for Android effective August 20, 2025. Plus, Amazon stated that their app store will continue to be available on Fire TV and Fire Tablet for now. We have yet to confirm other details on the news.
