Amazon Fire Phone officially launched with quad-camera 3D interface

The rumours have more or less been confirmed as Amazon finally reveals it's Amazon Fire Phone smartphone device. Tech specs are quite high end, with a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 4.7-inch display amd 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with Optical Image stabilization. However, the biggest feature on the Fire Phone is it's 3D effect interface which works through the use of four front-facing infra-red cameras. These track the position of your head and adjust the interface accordingly. Apart from looking very pretty, the cameras also allow for automatic scrolling just by turning your head.

Amazon has also included it's own features with Mayday and FireFly. Mayday provides a direct connection to an an Amazon representative with an average response time of just 9.75 seconds while Firefly can recognize whatever the camera is pointed at, letting you identify a book, QR code or other object and it can also recognize tunes and songs. Pricing for the Amazon Fire Phone is set at $199.99 on an AT&T contract. While AT&T have exclusivity for now, expect it to expand as soon as the exclusivity period is over.
