It looks like Amazon joined the wearable bandwagon. The company has announced the Halo Band, a wristband device with sensors to track a user's health. At a glance, it would seem like this would be another fitness smartband, but Amazon has stated that the main focus of the device is in monitoring a user's health.

According to Amazon, the Halo Band is different from regular fitness smartband as it doesn't come with a display and won't send constant notifications that may bother you. Moreover, it has water resistance, a battery that can last up to 7 days, and is meant to be comfortable to wear even while sleeping. The Halo Band will retail for about USD 100 (~RM417), while the Amazon Halo service will be available through a monthly subscription of USD 4 (~RM17).

In terms of features, the Halo Band comes with multiple advanced sensors, such as an accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a heart rate monitor, and more. The sensors are used to gather accurate data from the user, then fed to the Amazon Halo AI service to gain valuable insights on the user's health status. It also has two microphones that you can use to record your voice, which the AI can then used to determine if you're healthy based on the tone of your voice.

While it could be an alternative to more well-known brands like Fitbit, we're not sure if Amazon would sell this in Malaysia. If they do, would you be interested in getting one? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
