Amplify Malaysia - Nokia showcasing technology innovations that can transform Malaysia's digital economy

Recently, Nokia hosted 'Amplify Malaysia' as a technology event showcase accelerating Malaysia's digital transformation and economic growth. The company's refreshed strategy is setting Nokia as a B2B technology innovation leader, to spearhead the development of cutting-edge network solutions and advancements. 

At Amplify Malaysia, Nokia presented a series of demonstrations and the latest innovations, products, and technology across its portfolio of enterprise, mobile networks, cloud and network services, and network infrastructure technologies. Specially curated from Nokia's participation at the MWC 2023 this year, these demos showcased how Nokia can shape Malaysia's future in various industries and drive socio-economic growth throughout its 5G and digital transformation journey. 

The innovations that were showcased during the event include:

MX Industrial Edge:

  • Future-available on-premises edge solutions to accelerate the digital transformation of operational technology to meet the needs of asset-intensive industrial environments.
  • Opens up business-critical use cases for enterprises, such as real-time monitoring of video streams and alerts, and advanced video analytics for critical applications such as quality assurance or security.

NetGuard Network Security Dome:

  • Security orchestration solutions that provide pre-built 5G cybersecurity use cases.
  • Based on XDR capabilities, it can help assess business risks, improve decision-making, and control costs.

Optical Product Solutions:

  • Unlimited scalability to provide basic connectivity for network communication. Solutions simplify network operations from the edge to the undersea link, build smarter, more automated networks, and reduce total network costs.
  • ReefShark Chip Innovation: Enhancing 5G networks to improve the intelligence and performance of massive MIMO antennas and AirScale system modules. This autonomous chip leverages silicon design experience and Nokia Bell Labs' AI innovations to enable high-performance networking solutions.
  • PSE-6s platform: supports optical transmission network expansion, provides ultra-high-speed services, and reduces network power consumption.

Quillion chip innovations:

  • Support multiple PON modules, providing high port density and non-blocking throughput capabilities. Energy savings, innovation and differentiation.

FP5 network processing chip:

  • Improve IP network capacity and power efficiency while integrating wire-speed encryption.

Digital Network Planning and Optimization (NPO):

  • Achieve sustainable business growth on mobile networks and improve performance through innovative combinations, tools and processes.

Amplify Malaysia was opened with welcome remarks from Daniel Jaeger, Head of South East Asia, Nokia, followed by the keynote address from YB Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, Malaysia. Thereafter, Datuk Mohd Rauf Nasir, Managing Director of Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Maldives, Nokia, unveiled the company's refresh brand strategy. 

The event then proceeded to the presentation by Preetha Nadarajah, Chief Technology Officer, Nokia Malaysia, who highlighted Nokia's technology vision for the next decade and an introduction to Nokia's approach to sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance strategy.
