With technology getting more and more advanced, we do know that some of the human works are starting to be replaced by robots. However, it is surprising to find out that actors can be replaced by robots as well. A sci-fi movie named 'b' is going to be the first to cast an AI robot to perform on the silver screen.
The AI robot goes by the name 'Erica'. It is a humanoid robot created by the hands of Japanese scientists Hiroshi Ishiguro and Kohei Ogawa. Shockingly, the AI robot has been cast in a 70 million USD (~RM299 million) picture that tells the story of a scientist helping a robot to flee a lab. It is also mentioned that the producer of the movie Sam Khoze had to simulate her motions and emotions through one-on-one sessions, as it's different for actors who will involve their life experiences to act.

Still from the movie 'Ex Machina'.
The movie isn't actually the first production that nominates Erica to be one of the roles. Earlier, American History X was supposed to be the movie Erica debuts in but due to scheduling conflicts the project was dropped. However, things are not going smoothy for 'b' as well. Until now, no director and other human co-stars have been announced, but the producers have shot some footages and it is believed the rest of the shooting will resume in June 2021.
