An Honor 80 Pro variant with cutdown specs could be on the way

Back in November 2022, the Honor 80 series was launched in China in three flavours - Honor 80, Honor 80 SE, and Honor 80 Pro. This was then followed by the Honor 80 GT launching last week. But sources also claim that a variant of the Honor 80 Pro is on the way.

Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that an Honor 80 Pro with a 6.67-inch flat OLED display is coming. It will support Full HD+ (1080x2400) resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1920Hz PWM dimming. This display isn't like the one on the regular Honor 80 Pro, which uses a 6.78-inch curved OLED screen instead. Besides the screen, the front and rear cameras are different. The rear will have a 160MP+8MP+2MP triple camera (vs 160MP+50MP+2MP), while the front is just one 32MP camera (vs 50MP+2MP).

However, the other specs are expected to remain the same. In other words, this Honor 80 Pro variant should have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 8GB/12GB of RAM, 256GB/512GB of storage, and a 4800mAh battery. It should also support 66W fast charging, 5W reverse charging, and optical fingerprint reading.

Considering the rumoured specs, this seems like a cross between the Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro, so it could be intended as a more affordable variant. But what do you think, could this be an entirely different model? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates about it.
