Today, Astro just posted a new noticed about the payment of bills. Starting from January 2021 onwards, there will be an additional charging of RM0.50 but this is due to using third-party platforms (Astro doesn't collect any of this). If you happen to use third-party platforms to pay your Astro bills, read one below.

According to the notice, RMS (formerly known as Razer/MOL) ATX and MobilityOne will begin the RM0.50 surcharge from 1 January 2021 onwards. As long as you use this platform to pay your bills at any retailer shops and kiosk, it will be counted. Then from the 16th of January, they will add the petrol stations and selected e-wallets with the 50 cents surcharge per transaction by appointed agencies of e-Pay.

With that said, it's best to check your local listings on when the implementation will take effect as there are many e-wallet platforms. Below is the official list that will have the 50 cent surcharge:

  • Razer Pay
  • Boost
  • GoPayz
  • KelantanPay
  • PahangGo
  • Tapay
  • GoPay
  • MerchantTradeMoney
  • ToneGroup
  • Elinking
  • Mpay
  • Mcash
  • Touch n Go (TnG)
  • Grab Pay
  • Shopee
  • Lazada

Anyway, if you want to avoid that surcharge - you can still do your bill payment through AstroQuickPay, My Astro App, online banking and others. For more information, you can visit the official website right over here. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
