Analyst speculates that Huawei could sell their sub-brand HONOR

Based on a statement by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it seems that there could be a possibility Huawei might be planning on selling their sub-brand HONOR, which could remove HONOR off the entity list. With HONOR off the entity list, they might be able to do business with US-based companies, which means they’ll gain access to hardware and software needed to manufacture their devices.

However, do take some of the information with a grain of salt, due to the fact that Huawei recently dismissed these claims and they did not provide an update on whether they’re selling their sub-brand or not. The analyst did mention that selling off HONOR could allow them to develop better smartphones without breathing down their necks.
