Today, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) has finally got its Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. ZenFone 3 Zoom users can expect a notification for the software update on their phones, or check for the update in ‘System Update’ on their ‘Settings’ screen. The new update includes a few new features for the phones, which are:

  • Multi-Window View– Run two apps side by side
  • Quick App Switch – Switch between apps with a double tab
  • Notification Directly Reply– Reply to messages right inside the notification screen
  • 72 New Emojis– Select new emoji genders and skin tones
  • Data Saver– Limit how much data the device uses
  • Notification Controls – Choose app notification preferences
  • Display Size– Change the size of texts and icons

Among the new updates, perhaps the most exciting one is the Portrait Mode, as well as RAW image support. After updating your OS, you will probably notice a new interface in the camera section, the Manual Mode is replaced with a Portrait Mode button, which you can tap the modes button and switch from there. Given the phone’s dual 12MP camera sensors, the ZenFone 3 Zoom now takes two photos at the same time - the f/1.7 main camera takes a photo of the background, while the f/2.8 secondary camera takes a photo of the subject.
