Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp may be adding a new fun and cool capability soon - Animated Avatars. This is after the feature was spotted on the Android beta versions of the app.
As shared by WABetaInfo, the feature was part of WhatsApp for beta Android version 2.23.15.6. Specifically, Animated Avatars were part of an Avatars pack in the update.
That being said, the feature would be included in a future update of the full app soon. However, the exact release date is unknown.
This comes as no surprise though as Animated Avatars or variants of it are already readily available on Facebook, another Meta platform. Can’t wait to play around with it once it comes to WhatsApp!
