Furthermore, all driving institutes are encouraged to implement the new system, with the Transport Ministry giving them a period of 6 years to fully adopt it. Currently, eTesting is optional for candidates and is only available for the practical course test (KPP02).

Moreover, driving institutes are allowed to charge only up to RM100 fee for eTesting, though candidates will have a few benefits for using the new system. These include:

  • Candidates can retake each element of the driving test once on the same day should they fail without any additional cost
  • For those retaking the test on the same day, they only need to retake the test element that they failed instead of the whole Part II test
  • Candidates opting for eTesting will be given priority in the booking process of the driving test
  • Successful candidates will get RM10 rebate for their Probationary Driving Licence  or “P” licence
