So, the rumours are true. During Apple’s Scary Fast event, the company launched the new 24-inch iMac with M3 chips. That said, what should you know about it?

These specs look pretty solid

The main highlights? It’s the processing power for the new iMac. For your information, the M3 chips were based on the A17 Pro Bionic chips used in the iPhone 15 Pro. It’s also the first Apple chip for Macs based on the 3-nanometer architecture. Like the A17 Bionic SoC, the new M3 chips also support hardware ray tracing.

In addition, Apple says the M3 SoC is 30% faster than the M1 and 15% faster than the M2. Thanks to this tech, the M3 chips offer better performance with lesser power usage. That makes it the most efficient processor from Apple so far. Plus, the new iMac only offers the standard M3 chip. As of now, there are no iMacs that feature the M3 Pro or M3 Max chips.
