If you are an iOS enthusiast, this rumour might catch your attention. Recently, the test scores for the new Apple A18 pro chipset were leaked. That said, what should you know about it?

According to negativeonehero on X, the performance improvement of Apple A18 Pro is not obvious. Interestingly, the multi-core performance is only improved by 10%. The leaker also mentioned the A18 Pro's multi-core score in the GeekBench benchmark library is estimated to be 10% higher than that of the A17 Pro. That means the processor's multi-core score is estimated to be slightly over 8,000.

In addition, the early GeekBench 6 running score of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has exceeded 10,000 points. Meanwhile, MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 chip has also exceeded 10,000 points, which shows that the performance of Android flagship phones this year will comprehensively surpass Apple's iPhone. These are the screenshots of early running scores:

But it does not end there, the highlight of the A18 Pro is the single-core performance. Previous test results show that the SoC can surpass the Snapdragon 8th Generation 4 and Dimensity 9400 in single-core performance. But it is not satisfactory in terms of multi-threading.

Rumored test scores for MediaTek Dimensity 9400

The media believes that Apple may have deliberately weakened the multi-core performance of the A18 Pro to improve battery life. Eitherways, it will be interesting to see how Apple fans in Malaysia will react to this rumour. Remember, Apple has yet to confirm anything on the Apple A18 Pro SoC. So, it is best to take this rumour with a grain of salt.
