Some good news for the long-awaited next-gen Apple AirPods has finally arrived! According to the latest source, it is said that the pair of true wireless earbuds will be launched on 18 May alongside Apple's new high-fidelity (HiFi) music streaming feature.

The rumour came from an Apple YouTuber named Luke Miani. According to him, the tech company is planning to release both the AirPods and Apple Music HiFi via press release and website refresh. In 2019, Apple released the AirPods Pro via a press release on its website, so it's possible for the company to make the same move for this upcoming product.

The new AirPods will carry a major upgrade from previous AirPods. It is expected to sport a design that is similar to the AirPods Pro but without Active Noise Cancelling feature. For the Apple Music HiFi, it is said that it will not work with every device as code within the first beta of the upcoming iOS 14.6 update suggests that HiFi ‌Apple Music‌ streaming could be limited to only compatible hardware.
