If you own an AirPods Max headset, you're in for a treat. Next month, Apple will roll out a new software update, bringing lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio. Included with the USB C cable, this will allow users to enjoy the highest-quality audio across music, movies, and games.

According to Apple, the software update will unlock the AirPods Max with 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio, preserving the original recordings and allowing listeners to experience music the way the artist created it in the studio. Apple Music subscribers will benefit from this, with access to 100 million songs in lossless audio.

On top of that, the new update will also allow music creators to fully utilise AirPods Max to do their audio mixing work on Logic Pro and other music creation apps. Using the USB-C cable, AirPods Max will become the only headphones that enable musicians to both create and mix in Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking.

Apple also said gamers and live streamers can benefit from the ultra-low latency audio update which is on par with the native built-in speakers on Mac, iPad, and iPhone. The Lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio will be available in April as a free firmware update with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 for AirPods Max with USB-C.

In Malaysia, the AirPods Max is available for RM2,499 in five colours (midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and orange). Interested customers can visit the official Apple Malaysia website here, the Apple Store app, and through Apple Authorised Resellers.
