As the theme of the Apple Event suggests, the new Mac Studio and Studio Display are indeed on "peek" performance. Among the new products unveiled today, these two new Mac devices are the most overpowered ones and here's what you need to know.

Introducing the Mac Studio, this is Apple's latest compact PC that features the newest M1 Ultra processor. This 5nm SoC is the last one of the M1 lineup, featuring up to 20-core CPU and up to 64-core GPU. It also has up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 8TB SSD of storage which is kind of bonkers.

On top of that, Apple claims that the Mac Studio can perform up to 800GB/s memory bandwidth and up to 7.4GB/s storage performance. How this was achieved is by utilising UltraFusion which sorts of mash-up two M1 Max processors together but behaves as a single unit. This allows the M1 Ultra to have 14 billion transistors in total.

The Mac Studio also sports a wide range of ports including 4x Thunderbolt ports, an Ethernet, USB A, HDMI and a pro audio jack at the back. Meanwhile, there is a pair of Thunderbolt USB C ports and an SDXC port upfront. Apple said that the Mac Studio can hook up to 4 Mac Studio Displays and a 4K TV at the same time, as well as using 1000kW/h less energy than a high-end PC desktop

Professionals may also take advantage of the 12MP ultrawide front camera with Centre Stage, a first for the Mac lineup, 6-speakers sound system with Spatial Audio support.
