Apple Music's Spatial Audio only works with Apple M1-powered Macs

As you may recall, Apple announced that it will be adding Lossless Audio and Spatial Audio to Apple Music last month. Support for the feature was officially added to MacBooks after WWDC 2021 last night. However, it should be noted that it will be limited to selected Mac devices.

According to Wccftech, support for Spatial Audio will not be available to Mac devices that use Intel CPUs. If you want to enjoy listening to virtual surround sound on an Apple device, you will have to buy one of the new models that are powered by the Apple M1 chip. Additionally, Mac users might have to update their machines to macOS Monterey.

Spatial Audio is also available on the Apple Music app for iPhones

So far, it's confirmed that the AirPods Max and AirPods Pro will be compatible with the feature. Apple hasn't confirmed if wireless audio devices from other brands would work, but you should still be able to use wired headphones for Spatial Audio. It would be interesting to try different headphones with the feature to see what works.

Anyway, have you gotten the Spatial Audio update on your Mac? How is the experience for you so far? Share your comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates like this.
