Apple has now updated the Apple Pay support page in Malaysia and also added another new bank that is supported for local users, namely Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB). With this introduction, VIB users of either credit or debit cards can add their cards to Apple Pay in Malaysia.
We have yet to confirm the number of VIB bank users in Malaysia. Regardless, it is still a welcomed feature. With this addition, Apple Pay now supports AmBank, HSBC, Maybank, RHB Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Wise, and also VIB Bank. For now, it is not known when other major banks will also support Apple Pay in Malaysia – especially CIMB Bank.
After all, many people in Malaysia are anticipating CIMB Bank as the next in line. Hopefully, everything goes well. After all, Malaysians deserve smooth and easy banking transactions.
