As many of you may know, the annual Apple event in September is when the company introduces its latest iPhones. Of course, Apple is also expected to showcase some new smartwatches. Among the latter will be the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which is reportedly getting some upgrades.
Larger body, larger many things
According to MacRumors, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could come with a larger display. This report is based on an image found in the latest iOS 26, which was likely updated in advance to accommodate the upcoming devices. The new screen will have a resolution of 422x514, an upgrade from the Watch Ultra 2's 410x502 resolution.
This upgrade might not seem significant at a glance. However, it hints at either a larger AMOLED panel or a reduction in bezels. Since the new model is supposedly the same size as its predecessor, the latter is the more likely case. Although this upgrade isn't much, a larger screen would be able to display more information at a time.
Better performance and power efficiency
Besides that, the display could have a faster refresh for smoother scrolling. The rumours also suggest that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will have a new processor, satellite connectivity, and additional health features, like blood pressure monitoring.
With the Apple event just a few weeks away, we're inclined to believe that these leaks are accurate. Having said that, it's hard to tell how impactful a slightly larger screen would be for regular smartwatch users. What do you think?
