Apple buys an Israeli startup company for ~RM9.05 billion - Could develop AI for its audio-related devices

Apple today announced that it has acquired an audio-focused artificial intelligence technology company. It is said that Apple paid around USD2 billion (RM9.05 billion) to acquire Q.ai.So, what should you know about it?

 

Apple has yet to clarify why it acquired this company

For your information, Apple has not yet said what Q.ai technology will be used and integrated into Apple products. Q.ai specialises in helping devices understand whispers, as well as improving audio in noisy environments through the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Moreover, Google was previously among the investors in Q.ai through Google Ventures. For Apple itself, they are ready to focus on the audio arena by integrating AI features into AirPods, such as language translation and several others.

In addition, recent reports have stated that Apple is exploring the development of AI-focused devices for introduction as early as next year, alongside devices such as smart glasses.
