Apple could abandon Customer Service Support on Social Media

Every brand has its customer service support on social media. This is true especially if it's a famous and established company. However, smartphone giant Apple could abandon this feature altogether. That said, what caused this?

According to a reliable source via MacRumors, Apple will discontinue its customer service support feature through X (Twitter), YouTube, and Support Community. That means you’ll no longer be able to receive any kind of online support from these channels.

Moreover, this change will be effective from 1 October 2023 onwards. That starts with the @AppleSupport account on X. Hence, you will receive bot/automated responses instead of human responses.

But it does not end there, Apple will discontinue this feature on its Apple Support YouTube channel. As preparation for this scenario, the company has provided responses to the technical questions in the comments of each video. Kind of like an FAQ if you ask us. Remember, there will be no technical assistance for you from 1 October 2023 onwards.

In addition, the company has removed the paid Community Specialist role from the Support Community. For your information, The Apple Support Community provides help and advice from experts in the company’s products and services. Apparently, Apple believes that customers prefer phone-based support to writing online. As a result, affected employees are moved to phone-based support roles.
