Apple could come up with a new camera design for the iPhone 17 Pro

As usual, we are still in the first quarter of the year but there are already some rumours of the next-gen iPhone. Rumours of the iPhone 17 series have been going on since the launch of the iPhone 16 series. Today, the latest one really takes the cake.

One of the consistent rumours is the new rear camera bump design. If you aren't up to date, there were a couple of image renders showing the iPhone 17 taking a page out of the Google Pixel series. However, John Prosser from Front Page Tech claimed that's not the case, at least according to his sources.

In his latest YouTube video, he showed what the new iPhone 17 Pro's new camera bump design would look like. Apple may keep the triple rear camera setup on the same right side but now in a rectangular camera bar shape design. Meanwhile, the LED flash, microphone and LiDAR sensor are placed on the right side. It looks very goofy, which Prosser admits as well.

Prosser also explained that the horizontal triple rear camera design will not make sense because it will interfere with the Dynamic Island front camera module. If Apple insists on having it, then the horizontal triple rear camera design will need to be lowered which, to be honest, doesn't look that great. On the other hand, sources told him the new iPhone 17 "feels lighter" and will come in a two-tone colour scheme.

While that sounds like a good argument, it's best to take this news with a grain of salt. Prosser often has a good track record but not all the time. But what do you think of the design? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
