Instagram founder Kevin Systrom has now shared that he met with several companies that seemed interested in buying Instagram before it was bought by Facebook at the time. Between 2011 and 2012, the Instagram founder met with Twitter, Google and even Apple to buy Instagram. So, what should you know about it?
However, the discussions and meetings did not seem to bear fruit. Facebook (now known as Meta) in 2012 bought Instagram for $1 billion, at which time Instagram had around 30 million users. Since then, Instagram has grown rapidly, and today. Pin 2010, Apple introduced a social service called Ping, with a focus on music. However, it was shut down two years after its introduction in 2012.
We have yet to confirm other details on this news. So, we should wait for more confirmation from Apple. Regardless, it would have been interesting to see how Instagram could have progressed under Apple.
