It's been a while since we've heard of the Apple AirPower, a wireless charging mat that the company has been working on. At the time, it was said that Apple planned to use the A11 Bionic chip to help manage the heat. But a reliable source has claimed that the overheating issue has been solved.
According to Jon Prosser, the Apple AirPower (model number 'C68') now works with the Apple Watch. Before this, it was believed that trying to charge Apple's smartwatch on the mat caused the prototypes to overheat. It was so bad that some prototypes have allegedly burned out, a problem that was believed to be a result of the Apple Watch's proprietary charging system.
Well, you guys wanted a better picture of “C68”...

Remember how I said that the main problem was that current prototypes didn’t support Apple Watch?
Yeah.
Well.

By solving this issue, the 3-device charging mat will likely be launched in the coming months. In the previous leak by Prosser, he stated that if Apple manages to solve the problem then we can expect the AirPower to be available in Q4 2020 or Q1 2021. Also, it's expected to retail for USD 250 (~RM1070).
For those who own many Apple devices, this is good news as you can now use one device to recharge all your other devices. With that said, would you spend that much for a charging device like this? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
