Apple could launch the new MacBook Pro with a touch screen as early as 2026

Bloomberg claims that Apple is planning to introduce laptops with touchscreen support as early as the end of 2026 or early 2027. This move will also change Apple's stance so far of not including touchscreens on laptops, unlike Microsoft's move.

It will take a lot of work to get it right

Today, Apple is ready to provide a similar experience through the iPad with the integration on the MacBook Pro. This will require optimising the interface to be compatible with the touch screen, as well as leading to changes in user interaction and productivity.

Moreover, Apple is expected to use OLED panels and will no longer include a notch on the screen. Instead, Apple will use a small camera hole like on some smartphones today. The introduction of this laptop is also expected to offer an update to the design of the MacBook Pro itself.

In addition, Bloomberg said that this introduction will lead to an increase in the selling price of the MacBook Pro in the future. Other information is still unknown and is expected to be announced ahead of its introduction, which is scheduled for about a year from now.
