This might sound like a plot out of a Sci-fi movie, but nobody could rule the possibility out. A recent rumour suggests Apple could explore more into the production of Androids/humanoid robots. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, this rumour is circulating the Internet after the company has shelved its plans to manufacture EVs. According to uncited sources via Bloomberg, the Cupertino company is working on a robot that would follow people around at home and be helpful. This sounds like something out of Detroit: Become Human. Where Androids are tasked with making lives more convenient for humans.

In addition, the project is said to still be in early stages. As of now, it is still unclear if Apple will sell it as a product in the future. There is no official confirmation from Apple, but we could expect the company to try new ways to generate profits beyond its iPhones, its digital content and its services.

Moreover, there are reports that Apple has transferred employees from the shuttered car division to generative artificial intelligence projects. Bloomberg also reported the robot project is being overseen by Apple’s hardware engineering division and its AI and machine learning group.

Overall, it will be exciting to see what Apple plans for the future. Who knows? The company might reveal it at the annual WWDC developers in June. Currently, there is no official confirmation on the subject. So, you might want to take this rumour with a grain of salt
