Looks like Apple does not plan to rest, after years of innovations, it seems the company could introduce more new features for its iconic iPhone. Rumour says that company is planning to release the iPhone 17 with a built-in Apple modem.
For your information, Apple could switch to its own 5G modem by 2025. Perhaps that is caused by Qualcomm’s recent decline. As per the report, Qualcomm has recorded 52% net income loss year over year in Q3. It is also known that Apple is planning to reduce its dependency on Qualcomm’s chips.
In addition, Apple expert Ming Chi Kuo said that Apple is planning to use its own 5G modem chips by 2025. If that is true, then the iPhones 15 and 16 could still run the Qualcomm chips. However, it all depends on if Apple could overcome the developmental challenges. Previously, the company was expected to make the switch in 2023, but apparently something happened and derailed the plan.
We have yet to confirm other details on Apple’s in-house modem. We are also unsure if it is better than Qualcomm’s processor. Only time will tell if the switch could happen.
