Apple could replace the notch with a pill-shaped cutout on the iPhone 14 series

While there is still a long way to go for the next iPhone 14 series, this latest rumoured news is quite juicy. We have heard that Apple may plan to scrap the notch but how would you like a pill-shaped cutout design on the front display?

Granted, this is not official but someone just made an image render of how it would look like. Personally, a pill-shaped cutout may make or break but we also think iPhone users won't really mind. It's also interesting to see that a small cutout, could feature the current sensors such as the front camera, infrared camera, speaker, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and finally, a dot projector.

While this piece of rumoured news is fresh, it's not the first time that we read this kind of news. A media outlet from South Korea also published and claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will use the new pill-shaped cutout. Even for popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he also claimed similar reports.

In case you're wondering, Apple is still using the notch because it's necessary for the Face ID feature. Should the company really go in this direction, it would be most intriguing to see how are the iPhone engineers going to pack all the sensors into that shape. Either way, most tech fans will still criticise Apple for staying the same or trying something new.

We are still nine months away from the annual iPhone reveal, but what do you think of this image render? Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
