As per tradition, Apple has moved quickly to refine its smartphone portfolio following today’s unveiling of the iPhone 17 lineup. The company has officially discontinued the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, as well as the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Why These Models Are Gone
Aligning with its usual release cadence, Apple often retires older models once new hardware is revealed—especially featuring generational upgrades in design, chipset, and AI services. This time, the transition clears the way for the arrival of the iPhone 17 series.
What Remains in the Lineup
After the discontinuations, Apple’s available smartphones now include:
- iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, continuing under new slashed prices.
- The newly launched iPhone 17 series, led by the base model, starts at RM3999.
A New Era with iPhone 17
The retirement of flagship “Pro” models comes alongside Apple’s big reveal of the standard iPhone 17, a brand new iPhone Air (replacing the Plus model), iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
