Apple have officially announced their 10th generation iPad tablet in 4 snazzy looking colours of blue, pink, silver and yellow from RM2099. On top of this, Apple has redesigned the tablet with a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display that has no punch hole or notch for the front camera. Instead, the ultra-wide 12MP front camera is located in the top bezel in landscape mode.

That's not all, this is also the first iPad to not have a home button. However, Touch ID is still there, just integrated with the power button on the side. There’s also a USB-C port and WiFi 6 connectivity.

The 12MP ultra wide angle front camera is now located in the bezel, so the 10.9-inch display is all-screen with no interruptions

There's still Touch ID, just it's now on the side

On the inside, the new iPad is powered by an A14 Bionic chipset, iPadOS 16 and is compatible with the 1st generation Apple Pencil. However, it needs a separate dongle to both charge and connect to the new iPad.

Other new accessories include a keyboard with a large trackpad and a row of 14 function keys that Apple are calling the Magic Keyboard Folio. Thankfully the new iPad comes with a charger and cable but you'll have to get the Pencil (RM479, this new version comes with the dongle), its dongle (RM55 if you already have the Pencil) and the Magic Keyboard Folio (RM1249) separately.

Pricing for the 10th generation Apple iPad starts from RM2099 for the 64GB storage WiFi version and RM2849 for the cellular version that supports 5G. There's also a 256GB storage version but both are currently not available in Malaysia at the moment. The 9th generation iPad is now priced from RM1599 which is RM100 more than it was previously but it is now the lowest priced iPad of the bunch.

So, which Apple iPad tablet are you thinking of getting? We like the new blue colour to be honest but the higher price tag is certainly making us think twice. As always, stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech news and reviews.
