While waiting for the highly-anticipated Apple Event to be announced anytime soon, we've gotten some pretty good news on the upcoming iPhone 12 series. It is reported that the first shipment of the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 will start from 5 October onwards.

According to reputable tipster Jon Prosser, not only the final units of the iPhone 12s will be shipped on the mentioned date, but the event is also scheduled to be held on 13 October. Both the mini and standard iPhone 12 will come with three storage options including 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The iPhone 12 mini is expected to be priced starting from 700 USD (~RM2,922) and it is not going to support the latest 5G technology. For the vanilla iPhone 12, it could be priced starting from 1000 USD (~RM4,175) and has 5G support.

It is sad to know that the iPhone 12 mini is priced this high while having no 5G support. Other smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G and the upcoming flagship OnePlus 8T (which is expected to support 5G) are either priced at the same level as the iPhone 12 mini or even lower. Besides lacking 5G support, the iPhone 12 mini could also come with Apple's latest mid-range chipset B14 instead of A14 Bionic but it hasn't been confirmed yet.
