Apple iPhone 13 series could get larger battery capacities

Apple devices generally don't need very large batteries, thanks to how optimised iOS can be. For instance, the iPhone 12 Pro Max only comes with a 3687mAh battery. But high refresh rate screens use more power, which could be why Apple will upgrade.

According to Digital Chat Station, the battery modules for the iPhone 13 series were spotted online. Specifically, they were found on China's 3C certification site with the model number A2653, A2656, and A2660. The batteries come with capacities of 4352mAh, 3095mAh, and 2406mAh, respectively.

Judging by the numbers, they should be for the iPhone Pro Max, iPhone 13/13 Pro, and iPhone 13 mini. For comparison, the iPhone 12 Pro Max had a 3687mAh battery, followed by 2815mAh for the iPhone 12/12 Pro, and 2227mAh for the iPhone 12 mini. As you can see, the non-mini models are getting a significant upgrade in battery capacity.

As mentioned, Apple could be upgrading the iPhones to larger batteries due to high refresh rate displays. If that's true, we could expect the iPhone 13 series to have refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
