We've talked about the rumoured Apple iPhone SE 2 before, but it keeps getting overshadowed by the anticipated iPhone 8 over the past few months. Despite this, rumours have it that a new supplier for the iPhone SE 2 was chosen and manufacturing has already begun since May this year and they are looking to release them next year.

"Taiwan-based contract electronics maker Wistron Corp. is preparing for expansion of its production base in India to produce the next-generation smaller iPhone -- the iPhone SE -- according to sources in the South Asian country. According to the sources, Wistron is expected to start to ship the new iPhone SE -- which is expected to be more affordable than larger iPhones for many Indian consumers -- in the first quarter of next year.

They said that Wistron is in talks with the Karnataka government for an extra piece of land for its production expansion, hoping it will double or even triple its production capacity over the next five years."

Previously, rumours suggested that the iPhone SE 2 would be revealed together with the iPhone 8 in September but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Information about it is scarce and the only few things we know is that it will have an Ion X glass display, which is usually used on Apple Watch and the design will follow the iPhone 7 similarly, featuring an A10 chip, 2GB + 32GB (and 128GB) memory, a 12MP for the main camera, with 5MP at the front, and a 1700 mAh battery.

Do you still prefer smaller sized smartphones over bigger ones? Stay tuned for more Apple news and we will keep an eye on whether or not they will reveal a new iPhone SE.
